Kick-off meeting

On 26 April 2023, Zawiercie hosted the kick-off meeting of the Stepping Up the Implementation of the Decent Work Agenda project, funded by the Norwegian Funds and concerning decent work for migrants.

The meeting was held with the intention of getting to know each other better, in order to discuss the expectations, activities and course of the project, determine the roles of individuals and organizations, prepare a preliminary schedule and determine the first steps.

THE MAIN GOAL of the project is to learn how to be better allies for workers from Ukraine and how to facilitate their access to decent work in Poland.

ADDITIONAL OBJECTIVES are to strengthen the capacity to increase access to decent work, to conduct effective social dialogue and to strengthen relations and cooperation between the social partners.

During the opening session, after welcoming the people gathered, the project partners were presented: Międzyzakładowy Samorządny Niezależny Związek Zawodowy Pracowników from CMC Zawiercie S.A. i Spółek and Związek Pracodawców Ogólnopolski Konwent Agencji Pracy. Then, the moderator of the project, Aleksandra Latocha, discussed the purpose and programme of the meeting and reported on the course and conclusions of the first edition of the project: 2020-2022.

After the coffee break, the objectives and assumptions of the second edition of the project (2023-2024), the roles of the actors involved in the project and the conditions of implementation of individual activities were discussed.

This was followed by lunch, followed by a summary of the meeting, the basic findings were written down, the first project activities were discussed and the participants of the inaugural meeting were bid farewell.
